the book of nutrition, logo, paper crane, eating disorders

Welcome to The Book of Nutrition and thank you for taking the time to explore this little corner of the internet.

To start things off, I wanted to recount the story behind this project and how it all came to be.

Let’s begin…

I once met someone who was in the middle of battling an eating disorder. They were struggling with their self worth, trying to believe that it was okay to be who they were, okay to be hungry, okay to eat.

Each time I talked with this person, they would ask me questions about nutrition, weight and body image. I tried to help as best as I could, but the more this person learned about nutrition, the more frustrated they became that they had been misled by what they had previously thought to be true. Several times, they would say to me, “I really wish we were taught nutrition in school.”

These conversations with this very special person and other people I had the privilege of working with led me to see how crucial nutrition education is, especially among the younger generations and those who have come to see nutrition as confusing and frustrating.

Thus, the idea for this project came to be. Out of the need for truth.

It’s not fair that so many people are struggling with incorrect beliefs about food & weight because of all the misleading information out there.

My goal is to help change that.

And so, allow me to once again welcome you to The Book of Nutrition. A place & a community that you will hopefully come to associate with honesty, trust, reliability, and safety.

Feel free to explore the website, the blog, the YouTube channel, or say hi. I hope you stick around, and please know I’m rooting for ya.

Take care & bon appétit :)
